He retained his glare, cold and violent with his usual apathy, finding no humour in the man’s joke (but then again, his sense of humour differed quite a lot compared to most other people ; a trait noticed by anyone who spent more than three minutes around the swimmer). Despite not being a superstitious individual, Haru never knew when a stranger, teetering on the edge of madness, would actually use magic against him. Wariness was rarely a bad thing, wasn’t it?
‘…What else can you do?’
" whatever you say! “
with his smile still on and almost no change within his first greeting visage, henry shrugged slightly after the terms left his lips. a disappointment upon the rejection, but if the other desired it not, he’d keep the hex to himself. though, when the question asked reached his ears, he gave a momentary thought of his talent before returning an answer.
” hmmmm, i can use regular magic. like burning stuff and destroying things with a bolt of lightning !! "
A word, a question, a short string of syllables spoken in the most staggered tone rose from his throat, and accompanied the confusion surfacing on his face. For a moment, he paused and let his senses try to discover a change in his body. When none was felt, Haruka glared at the smiling man–––– or should he say madman? Either way, the swimmer was not going to allow paranoia cast its spell over him.
‘I don’t feel any different.’
" OH, relax !!
i didn’t mean that i cursed you! unless you want me to. then i can definitely whip up a quick serve of a hex delight! “
a quick laughter after a simple ’ joke. ’ certainly, cursing anyone would be an easy feat and he’s willing to do so at no cost if the other asked. after all, who would he be to deny a fun and effortless request?
Sarcasm dripped from his tongue, leaving traces of bitterness over the words he spat out. Anger rarely bubbled in his lungs, but annoying Haruka wasn’t a particularly hard task. Glaring at the stranger through half-lidded eyes, he waited for whatever nonsense would spill from the man’s mouth.
" awwwh, that wasn’t genuine. “
but, of course, his answer to the initiate query wasn’t proper, so that was to blame for the snide response. either way, he was not upset from the sardonic tone. rather, his emotions had barely shifted.
” i did tell you how that curse worked, you know? “
